About Me I began painting large canvases some years ago when I found I could not buy modern, interesting pieces in the colours I wanted and discovered that to commission what I did want would cost a fortune!
I had been experimenting in various art forms for many years including ceramic painting, stencilling, salt dough, paper mache, special effects painting and gilding. I then found that, although I enjoyed the creative process of these activities, I had no particular interest in, or use for, the finished product!
I do have a particular interest in the simplicity and clean lines of contemporary interior design and love to use colour and striking effects to add the wow factor to a contemporary interior.
Initially, my paintings were for my own home, but I soon began receiving requests from friends and family to produce pieces for them. I finally began producing work for sale in 2007.
I love working in strong colours - whether bright or dark - and enjoy experimenting with interesting techniques and textures. I often incorporate different textures or metal leaf. Most of my current work is acrylic on chunky canvas, which gives a fresh, contemporary feel.
